Anyone know why crystals melt at like 40-50 degrees when crystallised from water? They turn to yellow oil, is there to much HCl or water trapped inside the crystal

Its not for big crystals but the part for cleaning . I am referring to the the point where I heat the super saturated solution of acidified freebase and pour it into acetone. Can I change acetone for alcohol. Acetone is highly watched in my country since 10days ago/

Does any one have any good alternative choices for acid for the decarb and hydrolysis? HCl and phosphoric have just been added to the EPP regulation in my country, not possible to buy anymore without EPP licence or business and bussiness address, proof of use and full Identification.

Does anyone know if this method will still work effectively when you change acetone for IPA,ethanol or methanol ?
