For small amount yes. If we are talking about 20-50 gr, it is OK to recrystallize it in water/acetone in a half of a day. But for bigger amount more time required. Right now recrystallizing around 500 gr of mdma hcl in water/acetone. After 24 hours yeld is 83%. Around 85 gr are still dissolved...

It depends on transparency and crystals size. Is crystalls are pretty big and transparent, then yes, level of impurities is around 1-2%. If crystals are cloudy and small, then much much more, up to 10-15% impurities.

Thanks. Interesting. I also love this re-crystallization in 10% water/acetone solution. I used it for mdma hcl re-crystallization a hundres of times, but in this case the yeld is around 80-90% in 12 hours. To recover rest you shall evaporate most of liquid and repeat it again.

@G.Patton general, is it not more simple to use d-tartaric acid CAS No. 147-71-7 but in much more less molar proportions around 1 (base):0.2-0.5 (d-tartaric)? Exact proportions might be estimated with a simple test.
